David Lee Murphy is an American country music singer and songwriter. He was born on January 7, 1959 in Herrin, Illinois. Murphy began his career as a songwriter in the 1980s, writing hits for artists such as Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, and Blake Shelton. He then became a country artist in his own right, with hits such as "Dust on the Bottle," "Party Crowd," and "Every Time I Get Around You."
